Trustee vacancies

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trustee Board of Citizens Advice Wirral. We are looking for a number of trustees who are interested in helping to provide excellent governance for our organisation and shape our future strategic direction.

With an annual turnover of just over £1 million we employ 45 staff supported by over 100 volunteers and are contracted to deliver information and advice in the Wirral area. The organisation currently delivers contracts funded by Wirral Council, Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group, the Money Advice service, the European Social Fund and the Big Lottery. During the last year we delivered information and advice to over 59,000 people helping them with practical issues such as employment, debt, benefits, housing and consumer issues.

The full Board meets quarterly in Wallasey, and there are a number of sub-committees for trustees to get involved in. On average our trustees commit a minimum of 10 hours per month.

Can you commit to volunteering? Do you want to improve the lives of Wirral residents and bring your perspective and good judgement to our Trustee Board? Then apply to join our great organisation where you will receive training and opportunities over the next few years.

Trustees are volunteers and receive expenses.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for forward thinking people with a community, commercial or not-for-profit background.

We would be particularly interested in hearing from you if you have skills in one or more of the following areas: Finance, Law, Premises, IT, Fundraising, Marketing, Research and Campaigning, and Networking.

Citizens Advice Wirral is committed to diversity.  We value the benefits to the delivery of services to the people of Wirral that arise from being able to draw upon the different views and insights of trustees, staff and volunteers drawn from all sections of the community.

We would particularly welcome applications from women, younger people or people from BAME groups, as these are under represented on the Trustee Board.

Mentoring will be available from another trustee for candidates who do not have previous Trustee experience.

To request an application pack or to arrange to discuss the trustee opportunities or recruitment process further with a member of the Board, or if you wish to send in your CV, please contact our Office Manager  Joy Williams at  joy.williams@citizensadvicewirral.org.uk
