Stronger Together: Wirral Organisations Unite to Improve Community Wellbeing
Over 80 representatives from public and voluntary sector organisations across Wirral came together on Friday 7 November for the Stronger Together Partnership Event, hosted by Citizens Advice Wirral at the Lauries Centre in Birkenhead.
The event, opened by Wirral South MP Alison McGovern, celebrated the strength of partnership working across the borough and explored how collaboration can continue to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for local people.
Attendees included representatives from a wide range of organisations – including Wirral Council, NHS Primary Care Networks, DWP, Wirral Mind, Wirral Mencap, Age UK Wirral, Liverpool and Sefton, Energy Projects Plus, Wirral Change, Involve Northwest, and many others – all united by a shared goal to improve the health and wellbeing of communities across Wirral.
The morning featured presentations and films showcasing the collective impact of partnership working, with contributions from Carol Johnson-Eyre, CEO at Citizens Advice Wirral, Iain Stewart, Head of Transformation and Partnership at NHS Cheshire and Merseyside and Dr David Jones, Clinical Director at Healthier West Primary Care Network. At the event Wirral residents’ experiences and stories were heard that highlighted the positive effect of social prescribing and advice on health and wellbeing.
Carol Johnson-Eyre, Chief Executive Officer at Citizens Advice Wirral, said:
“The Stronger Together event has shown just how much we can achieve for residents when organisations work hand in hand. By sharing knowledge, resources and passion, we can make sure residents on Wirral get the support they need to live healthier and happier lives.”
The event also featured a vibrant “Partnership Marketplace”, giving attendees the chance to network, strengthen connections, and explore even more opportunities for closer collaboration in the future.
